Development action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.

Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.

We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

SummaryText
This 192-page book provides information, steps, and strategies that are intended to motivate instructional designers who are working to create e-learning environments tailored to individual needs. The book advocates a rethinking of e-learning, via a theoretical model and practical guide, with examples that can help instructional designers transform the author’s theories to practice. His model is based on the Myers Briggs Type Indicators (MBTI) functions, and emphasises the role of the online tutor, who needs to be a facilitator during the learning process so that he or she can motivate learners and provide them with constructive feedback and support when needed.

The book is described as being useful to novice e-learning designers, who are seeking guidance to create e-learning environments that will meet the needs and preferences of individual learners, as well as experts and practitioners, who need clear theoretical and practical ideas about the relationship of personality to e-learning design.
