Development action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.

Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.

We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

Searching the Network

We have upgraded the possibilities for people within the network to identify and contact other people in the network. In the top navigation mouseover The Ci Network and click on Search the Network. that will take you to a page such as this one   Fill in the fields of interest and click Search. You will see the Contact buttons in both the initial listing and for each persons profile when you open a profile. The same process is possible when a network user is accessing a knowledge summary. For example this is a blog by Lansana: "Forging a West African Consensus on UNGASS" To contact him simply click his link next to Network Contact or the About link at the end of the blog. This is the same for all knowledge. Please do search for some people and let me know how this works. Thanks - Warren
